Growing up, Meisha kept a journal or diary on and off to chronicle her thoughts and feelings. But quickly, that turned into her writing a fiction series in middle school and later, writing poetry in high school and fiction and creative nonfiction throughout college. She always found a way to tell stories through different art forms: whether it was drawing, hair expression, music, or writing.

 

Meisha earned a bachelors in English with a concentration in Writing before returning home to become a teacher. She gained plenty of accolades during her teaching career, including a masters degree in education. However, years in the classroom and a pandemic lead her to realize a childhood dream: to become an author.

Meisha still lives in her home city of Memphis, TN, where she still works in education, while learning to balance it with her passion for creating and writing stories. When she’s not mentoring teachers and students or cranking out stories, she loves spending time with her family and listening to a good R&B music playlist.​
